Geylang Lorong

Sha June 29, 2007 26

Our very own red light district, much more tame than Bangkok or Netherlands but still very happening la. I was with a bunch of friends the other day, nothing to do, well we decided to visit Geylang. Not for the services ah, but more of merayap surveying the place and supper.

I’ve not been there for quite sometime now infact, the last time was during the World Cup, where the place is a hotbed of LIVE free screening at the kopitiams.

I’ve always been fascinated by Geylang Lorongs after being told by my friends of such vices being offered there. Growing up, you tend to ask questions and seek answers. I remembered the first time I went there, to poke around and see what it’s all about.

It was during my National Service time with my NS police buddies. I think about this age, it’s kinda like a rite of passage for all boys goes through. To visit the prostitutes at Geylang and the Bapuks at Changi Village.

You get to oggle, mingle, talk, touch and even render the services. It’s really up to an individual to extend how far he’ll go … for me, well I play it safe

Walking around Geylang Lorong there at night is as the same as it was few years back. The quality girls are those behind ‘fish tank’, while the less screened ones are those lining up along the streets with pimps hawking their trade.

Sometimes those without pimps are those you should be wary off. They come off cheap and will resort to anything to get your dough. Sometimes you get even to see some people playing ‘catching’.

Probably some Mat getting into trouble with some Ah Beng, such clashes are hysterical to watch, stare-down and such. Egos!

It’s interesting to think and wonder why people joined the flesh trade. In fact I’ve heard even more local secondary school and university students are signing up. They’re not hardcore prostitutes but freelance prostitutes. Good money they say, but at what cost?

I don’t really know anyone who is such freelance but to think the number of customers they have to handle per night. I bet some of them don’t even bother using condoms. After servicing couple of customers, bet it just gets in the way.

But who are we to judge how they want to run their lives and earn that extra money. Maybe help these freelance find an alternative way for them to earn money perhaps … It is usually the middle and lower class people who render the services of prostitutes.

Well do you visit Geylang Lorong?

Meh, i’ve yet to visit the lorongs. Been meaning to, but just dont seem to have the right time. Have heard of the ‘fishtank’ though, which I find rather derogatory. Macam meat on display! :( But i guess if the women are ok with it, then to each his own, can’t be helped since it is their choice.

I have seen bapuks at changi village though. One was drop dead gorgeous lah! like “weeweet can i have your number and ask u out on a date, miss?” kind of gorgeous hahaha.

geylang is a very favorite place for me when i go for calls there!!! so very sexciting!!!! hahahahahha… ive been inside the fish tank, the semi detached house, the double decker house, and also the lorong of all the lorongs you can find there… when i got case at any geylang lorong, my driver, my medic and me got all sexcited!!! one of my classic case was when this old patient ‘didn’t’ make it to any round, cos he got heart/attack… that left the ‘service girl’ in a state of shock!!! wahahahahahahahahahahhahahahahahahaha….

goes to show, when we’re old, we all become more cheekpek!

oooh.. I’ve never been there. Probably,I’ll drop by for a walk sometime..But ya, I guess being in this trade, they can bring lotsa money home in one night. Some of the prostitutes may just want the money and not giving a hoot about their body and intergrity. But some, might be the ones who were forced to be in that trade. Nowhere to run, nowhere to hide and prob in dire of cash.

    hmmmmmmmmmmmm interesting !!

i have never in my life visited these places.. though i have heard of it.. hahaha and yeah i guess ur right abt it being “every boys passage” sorta thing.. coz last time i went back all my abg sedara didnt wanna take me.. but took ma bro there for a look see!! hahahaa..

anyway.. i guess those girls in the industry may not really have a choice.. some may have been this one documentary i saw.. whr they take the girls away at the age of 10.. and the younger they are the better.. or they really really really resort to these measures because they need to support family..

But.. for those who do have a choice.. may be they are just trying to keep up with the rat race.. the high standard of living costs.. or just want to be independant.. grabbing whatever chance they get.. OR.. it could be a result of abuse.. or wanting to get attention.. or a cry for attention.. u never know really..

and the guys who go there.. i heard part of the reason why men like prostitutes so much.. and it continues to grow is that men would rather pay for a fcuk and leave.. rather than playing the dating game.. or getting into relationships.. its just so detatched that its convienient.. oh god.. i wrote so much.. sorry!

    • Uncle Sha July 1, 2007 at 5:51 pm - Reply

well don’t visit it yar. i think innocent you wouldn’t fit in. men will pounce on you

well everyone does have a choice i feel. if its indeed pro-slavery then i can’t say much about that. that you need the authorities for help but many women enter prostitution as a last resort

well that the very purpose of brothels. most guys go there most are married. they’re not lonely, some just want to live out their fantasy while others are just not getting it. Prostitution is inequality made sexy.

i love to drive round Changi around 1am or 2am whenever we rent a car. i dont know why. it’s like it’s a must that i visit the place each time we got a car. haha!

jembu gilerrrr la…! tsk tsk…i heard that if they sees a guy that they like drive through that ‘carpark’, they might jump onto the hood of the car to get the guy’s attention. VIOLENT WOHH!

oooh i’ve been ard a couple of times, alwiz asked my frenz to drive/ride thru. cuz i die2 muz find pretty gorgeous ones among e ok2 or cannot-make-it ones. then after i find, i will smile2 at them, make it look as tho im e interested one.

but too bad, none of e above actuali happened, cuz sumer cam tkde standard. wahahhaha!!

but one lorong i wun go, is e one they term ‘melayu punya’. too painful to do so la.

wadeva e reasons they give for doin so, im sorie, but i feel there’s alwiz a better, more effective way. i’ve heard frm frenz who are frenz of them, and no matter how lengthy their explanations are, nope, no can do.

itz meant to be done for fun n fulfillment (or for child-bearing), not for money or anithin else.

The last time I was in Singapore I was surprised when a friend showed me the Geylang lorongs. I didn’t think the strict government there would allow places like that. The only Geylang I knew about growing up was Geylang Serai hehe! My friend droved slowly…allowing us to ‘check’ out the girls. I wonder if those girls would ever have a happy ever after ending like Julia Roberts in Pretty woman? Hmm..I also wonder how much the girls get paid? And while I’m at it..where do singaporean women go to to get service?? Is there such a place where there are men prostitutes..just for women I mean..

    • Uncle Sha July 1, 2007 at 5:59 pm - Reply

Geylang is like the unofficial official place. it won’t be in black or white in gov eyes, but the place has to up and running. authorities could move in anytime to close it down, but they won’t as they know there’s a need for it. Prostitution is an outlet for men’s sexual urges, if there isn’t one, hmmm well we’ll have problems.

Historians suggest that it emerged from slavery in ancient Babylon. if it still exist then, i would still think it will exist still now, no matter what eradication or alternative programs by gahmen

I love visiting Geyalng district when I am in Singapore. The last time I was there, I picked up a couple of girls and took them to Amrise hotel. For around SGD 400.00 for both, I spent three hours there and came 4 times. One girl called Lucy – she was from Hong Kong, nice with big tits and loved anal sex. I have her number and plan to see her when I am in Singapore in 2 weeks time. On each visit to Singapore, I see around 6 women as I am normally there for a week to 10 days.
