We have your disastrous massive oil spill at the Gulf of Mexico, and now in Singapore we have our very own “oil spill singapore“. Well such a terrible mishap of course, and the incident happened yesterday morning.
I don’t really know the extend of the damages the oil spill will create, but I’m sure the sea-life surrounding the oil spill area would be drastically affected.

A Malaysian-registered tanker, MT Bunga Kelana 3, collided with a bulk carrier in the Singapore Strait, about 13km southeast of Changi East yesterday.
The collision at 6.10am caused some 2,000 tonnes of crude oil to spill into the sea.
The Singaporean Maritime and Port Authority said in a statement yesterday that there was no report of injury of crew members following the tanker’s collision with MV Waily, which was registered in St Vincent and The Grenadines.
However, the tanker suffered damage to one of its cargo tanks, resulting in the spill.
The master of the tanker estimated that 2,000 tonnes of crude oil could have spilled into the sea from the collision.
The vessels are currently anchored in the Singapore Strait – the Bunga Kelana 3 about 7km south and the MV Waily 11km southeast of Changi East.
Although traffic in the area remained unaffected, the authority’s port operations control centre issued broadcasts to ships to keep clear of the anchored vessels.
The authority said work was also ongoing to contain and clean up the spill, adding that it had alerted oil spill response companies, which deployed three crafts with equipment to the area.
The statement added that it had also informed the Malaysian and Indonesian authorities of the incident.
