Yesterday I got this really convincing phishing email, and for a moment, maybe five seconds or so it convinced me of it’s authenticity.
But once I read the lines, to revert and provide username plus password, I knew it was a scam.

I guess the fact it was from my old Internet account, Pacific Internet Pte Ltd for which I’ve not used in a long time probably made me gullible for a few seconds.
The thing is all this while I’ve not terminated my account at Pacific Internet Pte Ltd. I still kept it for nostalgia sake, and I’ve this really old decade plus email with them for which has sentimental attachment to it.
I subscribed to their Internet plans back in 1997, and still am now … well technically that is, in fact currently I’m just paying for the email package at $7.30 per month!!
That email and me goes back way way way long time, and every time I decide to terminate the account; as it’s redundant paying for something that I never use; I just need to be remembered of the experiences I had using the email, and I stop short of actually going through with the termination.
Oh I’m such a sucker for the oldies …
