Sunday is the only day that I find myself not on the move
Yes I’ll just stay at home and rot like a log. I think more of us should be doing that, single or otherwise. Have a late breakfast in bed with your spouse or just cuddle up to your love one. It’s a great way to spend more time with your family; cheap too
With the ERP gantries increasing, taxi fare charges going up, and the public transport fare hikes, the means to venture out ain’t what it used to be. It ain’t cheap anymore. I don’t know about you all, well for me it isn’t.
Of course it’s inevitable for such hikes as the economy tries to balance itself out, but I just find going out on a Sunday just turns me off lah, as I can hear the kaching ringing in my ear.
I think it will be very frustrating for people who wants to own cars in the future. We don’t have much land for more space and the government itself is making it ‘hard’ for wannabe drivers to own their very own cars

Lucky for me I’m car-less and depend very much on public transport.
Call me cheap; although I prefer the term financial planner better … on any single day, I find myself topping up my EzLink at least once when I travel using our ‘world class’ Singapore public transport.
It’s burning a hole in my pocket and I wish I could be on student concession forever, even when I have started to work in the future.
Well that’s why I always look forward to every Sunday.
No kaching = No heartpain. No more crowds, jostling or sitting beside stinky people
Today earlier, for today’s edition of Uncle Sha’s Sunday Day, well I woke up really late.
By the time I washed-up, I missed the morning shows and cartoons.
Awww dang. Well I made up for that by watching a sappy chick-flick show.
Yes I do watch them. Save the Last Dance, A Walk to Remember and Notting Hill tops my list.

I was in the mood for something a little nasty, so I watched Pretty Woman. This is like the umpteen time I’m seeing it. I even know some of the lines by hard, but I never get sick watching it. I don’t think anyone can.
Julia Roberts has such an angel of a smile and the pairing with Richard Gere was just marvelous. He’s in need of emotion, and she got plenty of it
Another thing I like about the movie is the selection of songs on it. Pretty Woman was released in 1990, but it’s still an 80′s movie. The clothes, hairstyle, culture, well everything is still kinda retro.
Do you guys remember Roxette and Go West. Or do you even know who is Peter Cetera and Lauren Wood. Well they’re all in the soundtrack of Pretty Woman

I grew up hearing such songs. It holds so much memories for me obviously. For me, they’re equivalent to your Christina, Pussycats Dolls, Britney and Timberlake during my time
I still remember buying such cassette tapes at the night market, and if I’m unlucky I’ll get fake singers on it; cursing my luck of course. Reality is, original ones are too expensive and way out of my allowance back then
Getting back to my Sunday movie, I think most of us love and particularly remember the scene when Vivan (Julia Roberts) was at Rodeo Drive buying all her new clothes and the soundtrack “Pretty Woman” by Roy Orbison came blasting on
And coming to the part where Vivan came back to the store to confront the mean saleswoman, and blowing them off … I went like, “You go gurlfren”
Hahaha. You would never imagine me saying that eh
Overall it was a good Sunday for me today. I’m well rested and I was nursing yet another sprain ankle. This time of the left now. Just laying like a vegetable does great on the recovery process.
I had a short nap too, and embarrassingly enough, I still drool like a baby at times.
After a chick-flick day, I’m coming back to macho-mode now. I’ll probably do something manly tomorrow. Maybe more loud grunts when I train tomorrow or wear my lumberjack outfit when I’m out.
Yes slap me silly some overalls, construction hat and yellow boots. Time for some heavy grunting and picking of nose. I think I’ll look good in them. No not Phua Chu Kang hor
Well how did you spend your Sundays?

I can’t remember the last time I slept in on a Sunday. I miss those days!
Maybe put the kids at grandma for the morning, and have a day to yourself & wife
Maybe you need a break bro
Ah gooodmorning. i didnt finish reading your entries before my dear cousin jumped on to chat. HAHA yes. Sundays are what i call LOVE of self indulgence. Its not that you don’t want to see nobody, BUT sometimes you just need time to yourself, and that time feels bloody great coz u just dont have to think of others or costs or whatnots. On another note. Seeing u in that outfit reminds me of the village people and YMCA!! hahaa.
Yes Sundays are babat love days!
Hahaha, YMCA eh … you made me recall the last time I did the YMCA dance. So malu
