Quality of Life

I used this tool to olden my photo below

I read a recent report on a local study on the quality of life for Singaporeans and from the report it has both good and disturbing news.

Yes we Singaporeans will live longer, up to 70-80 plus years of age in fact, but the bad thing, for a decade or so in our twilight years, we’ll be suffering. The report never really state what kind of ‘suffering’ but I reckon bedridden, or some ailments perhaps

Imagine that, ten freaking years of suffering, I would rather opt for euthanasia

I’m the kind of person who has been fiercely independent all my life. I’ve always do things on my own and never depending on anyone for jack shit. I don’t like the feeling of ‘owing’ anyone anything.

When I’m old I would still like to have my dignity. Having someone to wipe my ass would be so ‘malu’ (embarrassing). Such indignation I hope would not befall me when I aged

So all the workouts, healthy eating and trying to lead a fulfilling non-stressful life now, will do me good when I do get old. I hope to be physically able and mentally sound when I’ve transitioned from an Uncle to Grandpops

I think so far this Anak Melayu have been doing well on that health front. I feel younger, I have more energy level and people have commented I don’t look my age compared to people in my age group. It’s all in the mindset, and wasn’t that difficult for the ‘transformation’ as I was ready and willing for the change

You cannot buy health and I think plenty of young people take their youth for granted. Always putting it later and later on leading a healthy lifestyle. I believe like savings for retirement you have to start now and early

I’m not trying to be a health freak here or be a blog of preaching-in-your-face kind of topics, but what I’m writing are real issues that are serious. I’m doing my part for myself and my loved ones, and are just highlighting my concerns here

How about you? Are you prepared for your twilight years

Unfortunately life is unpredictable. Coz its not just the elderly folks that can be ‘suffering’. You can be at the prime of your life – YOUNG FIT & HEALTHY and all of the sudden a car accident or an unforeseen illness can make you permanently bedridden. Yes we rather not think about it but this is a reality of life.

Yeah.. you are right bro about staying healthy and all.. but we can only pray for the best. As much we try to keep ourselves healthy and hope nothing befall us… it all there for HIM to decide. Just look at two recent incident of young healthy men that have left us recently… What does that tell us..??

It tells me that Life is too short for you to just let go waste. Maximise its use.. The next question is how do you maximise the time of your life. Stay as healthy as you can for a longer life..? or work as hard as you can to earn as much money as possible to enjoy life? Or do lots of voluntary work to helps others in their life? Or just plain lepak and enjoy your own life day by day..?

….. or like you say stay healthy for life… that i if you have one..

Yeah we can try the best we can at keeping healthy on our part

But I’m ready to accept the fact, when my time is up, its up

At least I know knowing I’ve live my life the way I want it to be and not a lie

wen i tink of me old and wrinkled, i just want to be like an old couple i saw feeding each other french fries. ahaha.

but yes, good health is definitely important and even as im growing now i can see my body reacting differently to things i eat. like how my face will gatal2 when i eat too much chocolates.

no im not prepared for my twilight years.. yet. it’s a slow process for me but i am very sure i dun want to be a help-me-wipe-my-butt nenek if i can help it :)
