Wow Uncle Sha, I see that you have very strong views on this issue..The gahmen do provide fair opportunities for all to succeed. Just look at our education system; all race, religion or gender is given equal opportunity. Not every country is as undiscriminating as ours. Take Afghanistan. Females are at a disadvantage when in comes to education. How lucky are we aint it?

Moreover,I can confidently say that even the poorest of the poorest in Singapore still is in a better condition than the poverty-stricken ones in Indonesia. We do have our grassroot leaders at least trying to make the effort to improve the situations for the less unfortunate ones like the Monday sessions at RCs.

Our politicians aint that bad compared to some politicians in other countries who are even using religion as the basis of winning the people over, but in the end, what has been done?
It's all an act of a soothsayer or in this case an act of a Grande Talker.

Perhaps the issue at hand here is not so much of the gahmen not upholding meritocracy but the problem more of the society still having typical mindsets with hints of prejudices. The problem lies in us and not the gahmen. . .

Well anyway if we can’t handle it, just escape and party at Ibiza! Woohoo! :)

We always complain yah...but i think our government is one of the best in world, in my opinion...I don't think the divide between the middle class and the lower class is wider than many of the countries in the world. Let's just take our South East Asian neighbours. Aint it true? Our government may not be perfect but we do uphold greatly the policy of meritocracy, aint it.
Woohoo (i hope LKY is reading this and would give me extra months bonus for being a loyal and ardent gahmen worker!) heh!

1st of all I chanced upon yr blog while searching for some malay porn. Yes porn and for some reason we share the same name but different U. I like this post as I'm agree with u totally. The divide is huge. Fruit of public labour has always been unevenly supplied. The rich will get richer and the poor will suffer. They'll jack up utility bills and petrol prices to the point where the middle class suffer. I believe the Government is good... good at jacking up everything except our pay. I work with foreigners every single day for 16 freaking hours. From management post to general workers. And it always eats me inside when I see those so called professionals drive and live in 5 rm hdb flats with their maids. Maybe I should ask the IRS what they do with my 2+k income tax that I pay every year. Is my degree worth less than one from Indian, China or Myanmar? Or do I need to shower in peroxide everyday? Well all I can say is I believe in what Francois de La Rochefoucauld said.
