I used to have a really detailed page about Singapore local music in my previous blog. There were song previews, photos and I even put up the singer or band information. It has received quite a number of page views. Half of my blog search traffic then in fact are from queries with users looking for local bands and songs.
But something screws up during my blog upgrade transition and all of information on that page was lost. What a loss, and I’ve the mojo to start the page again, but that doesn’t mean I’ve lost faith in our local music scene. I still do go down for gigs and such. I’m still quite the fan of local made music
Not all local music are crap lah, well some are … they are usually the wannabes but of course there are genuinely several good local bands and undiscovered singers who are still not household name yet
What I find in common is that, most of our local bands/singers have MySpace pages. First in my bookmark is Art Fazil. Do you know him, I just love his songs, his rustic warm voice humming and strumming to his sexcellent acoustic singles.
