Yearbook of Statistics 2008 have release the latest figures yesterday and well I’m not impressed. From economic standpoint of view we’re doing well, but there was disappointing figures in the areas of procreation. Stats don’t lie and I believe what stemmed such figures are inflations and rising cost of living. Here are the breakdown
- Population grew by a number of 200,000 from last year
- Foreigners numbers stands at 1,005,500 (14.9% increase from last year)
- Singapore & PR figures now harbors around 3.58 million (Increase of 600,000 from 2007 figures)
- The number of births just slightly increases by 1,100 more than previous year
- The number of marriages just slightly increases by 260 more than previous year
Another interesting figure is that Singapore guys marriage average age is around 28 years old. I’m going on 30 this December, so looks like I’ve overshot beyond the normal-mean eh. Well I’m still hoping for a blissful ‘kepak-gebung-kepak-gebung’ marriage in the future, but career comes first for me now. Yeah I do have a slow headstart in life than other dude, so kids … my advise is don’t be a blur-cock in school and get retained
Back to the subject of our embarrassing procreation stats, well I do want babies in the future and I loftily dream of having more than 3 kids in my family previously but reality is, its not feasible in terms of financial means at current times. I felt the inflation recently more than ever. I’m being more frugal with my money these few months (I spent $51 on makan grocery bills last June, I kid you not!) and it really sucks.
Even entertainment wise I’ve forgo many of my previous pleasures for a more docile monk lifestyle. The last time I went clubbing was like eons ago! But I’m still optimistic of the future and that’s my only salvation
So are u still in school?
My final paper was last year
