Alright this entry is like a week late; hey I was very busy as of late.
I went down to Jalan Besar stadium for the Lions XII debut Malaysian Super League match versus Kelantan on the 10th of January.
Despite home ground advantage our boys lost to the defending champion two to one.
A recap of the match, I love the pre-match entertainment.
Baihakki Khaizan was impressive in defense; he was cool as cucumber and rock solid. Hariss Harun was tenacious in midfield, although his passing could have been better.
While for the rest of the team, it was a forgettable performance. There was no flow to the game; the midfielders aren’t getting the ball to the striker.
Agu Casmir wasn’t being supplied with enough passes, and he looked lonely up front most of the time. Overall the team looked rather nervous playing the game.
I would watch matches at Jalan Besar stadium again if Lions XII is doing well in the league.
We the fans, the 12th player for the match did our part by screaming our lungs out, but it seems the other 11 players could muster a win for us.
Although the outcome was disappointing, the pre-match entertainment was fun. It had a carnival like atmosphere to it. That was the highlight of the outing for me.
For now, I’ll reserve my support for the Lions XII until they notch up a couple of wins under their belt.
