Swine Flu Singapore

Sha April 27, 2009 4

Recall the SARS outbreak back in 2003 which resulted I believe in more than 25 deaths and countless affected. Well I’ve concerns of another possible outbreak of swine flu singapore. Just a concern ah, it has not happened yet!

I was reading the paper and well there’s growing fear of the swine flu outbreak that has killed 103 people in Mexico and is spreading to the United States and Canada, and reaching Europe too. I reckon Africa and Asia would be next and that’s scary man.

It is a human-to-human spread disease and swine flu is basically flu from pigs. Its a mutated form of Swine flu because it can pass from human to human in droplets in the air which you then inhale. The symptoms are of normal flu such as sore eyes, sneezing and coughing, sore throat. If infected, as long as you get the necessary treatment you will be fine.

The media has been harping that this might be the flu pandemic that scientists say is long overdue, but I just hope that’s all hype and nothing more.

WHO currently puts the swine flu on pandemic alert level 3, and maximum level 6 is bad of course and I hope it doesn’t reach that. Washington is already taking the outbreak “very seriously” and I’m not trying to scare you of course. But I reckon its best advise to take precautions at swine flu outbreak affected areas such as Mexico, Southern California and Texas.

There are currently no known cases of human swine flu in Singapore and no travel restrictions or quarantine advised by the World Health Organisation (WHO) for swine flu.

As for me I’ve not been sick for the past 4 years or so *touch wood* and I’m not planning to be any time soon.

My secret is be stress free by indulging yourself in a balanced lifestyle, be it physically, diet, sex and such. Love doing something that you like at work, and do sleep around seven hours daily.

Also another tip that will ensure your good health is to hug me when you see me on the streets. My good health will rub-off on ya … I’m not kidding (The last advise only applies to the ladies only :p)

Swine flu is the latest scary news indeed.. in Malaysia, we’ve faced Japanese encephalitis virus, nipah virus & chikungunya virus problem for the past 2-10yrs (if am not mistaken). The issues was hot in the beginning, but the ‘red alert’ light faded with the time. I wonder how many % of the citizens are still in alert mode & at the same time pray tht swine flu prob will be curbed ASAP.

Salute to Uncle Sha for being able to stay healthy for the past 4 yrs(am personally jealous actually, at the same time try to practice whetever he preaches, he!he!).
