Zebra Crossing

There’s of course drivers who always try to “beat the red-light”, but there’s also drivers who tries to “beat the pedestrian” at the zebra-crossing

This bunch of morons really irks me

Many a times I’ve seen such drivers just revving up the gear, without slowing down and just blitz through

I was reading Faddy’s entry on crappy SMRT cabbies, and I would like to highlight on my observation, I caught cabbies most of the time as the culprit

When I’m cycling or jogging and when I need to use the zebra-crossing, there will always be a situation where the drivers won’t stop, even if I’m right there at the crossing

Just because the pedestrian stops at the zebra-crossing to check the traffic, it doesn’t mean the vehicle have the right of way, ignore us and went on their merry ways

Vehicles don’t have the right of way in such situations, the pedestrian do

We’re at risk most if such accidents do happen, while the moron driver gets away scratch-free

They must be suffering from dementia as in driving school, you’ve to slow down your vehicle when coming to a zebra-crossing, no matter if there’s pedestrian or otherwise

I was so fed-dup that when I see a vehicle which tries to beat the zebra-crossing these days, I would sort-of ‘throw’ myself in front of the vehicle

Fucking moron drivers would jam-brake. They knew they’re in the wrong, they won’t dare to look me in the eye

Of course I didn’t really ‘throw’ myself totally lah, I just action try to cross the zebra-crossing

its a habit i have to look before i cross… even at a zebra crossing… i think everyone should adopt this mindset… just because its a zebra crossing, doesn’t mean motorists will give way to u.

I think the older ones are more cautious, as does as you did, its the kids who just run lintang pukang when at the crossing

Lols, when I was back in Summer Holidays, I was having my daily jogs around the neighbourhood in Woodlands.. As I was crossing the zebra crossing near the stadium and Bus interchange, there was this black honda which hit onto me when I was crossing the zebra crossing.. Apparently he was hesitating whether to beat me to the zebra crossing.. Thats why I’m still alive..

    *very very furious*

I F@!$%@ him at the top of my voice (other drivers were actually taken a back, remembered the uncle driving the lorry had a shocked look on his face, but I was too angry for his nonsense) and kick his bumper so hard it created a dent.. After that, I went to his side of the car and F#@!$ and F#@#% him while he was continuously apologising to avoid trouble (I think he was taken by surprise by how I reacted)..

Later when I continued my run towards the Civic Centre, I turned back and saw him stopping by the side of the road to check his bumper.. lols!!

Lesson learnt: Obey traffic rules, don’t be stupid..

Woah quite an experience, safe to know you’re still alive dei

If I was the driver, I think I also scared la, when you don’t smile, you look macam Beijing assassin ya know

Well we’ll jog together soon. Next time you kick the bumper, I kick the windscreen. Set

Ugh, tell me about it. I always look before I cross, cos I know such morons exist. A few days back some asshole almost ran me down at the zebra crossing. In this case, the cars in front did stop, so I started walking, and then this assholic driver at the back had the audacity to switch to the opposite lane and sped off. I ended up being mere centimetres away from his car!

I NEVER take my time to cross, so I have no idea what their problem is. Jeez.

Anyway, hello. :) Been a while since I last commented, but I’m still following your blog.

Well pedestrians also cannot assume cars will stop at traffic lights or zebra crossings. Its best that both stops and one will give way!!

Yup the right way to do it, but well for me, it depends on my mood i reckon
