I used to ponder over what kind of gifts to get my friends whenever their birthday approaches, but I’ve learned it’s better to just ask the birthday boy/girl what they want.
Yes it might give away the element of surprise, but I find it’s wiser to be practical.
You run the risk of buying something that the birthday boy/girl might have, or offending them if the gifts didn’t go down well with them.
If you insist on surprising the birthday boy/girl, do try to get them something that’s practical.
A gift which one can use daily, rather than collecting dust in the store-room.
It’s also wise to ask subtly, being observant around the birthday boy/girl, or asking their friends of their current needs if you want to pick out the ‘right’ gift.
As for me, being a jock that I am, I prefer sporty stuff, so remember that eh friends!
With that I’m telling the world that I’m officially 31 years old as of today!
