How not to be a jackass

Sha May 19, 2009 2

There are just some things that they don’t teach in school such as

  • Financial Management
  • How not to be a jackass

We all have to learn it the hard way that life isn’t easy. It’s hard especially when you’re young, you don’t really know between head or tails of what to become before your academia commences, let alone after finishing school. Well for me it was.

Thereafter when school’s out, you’re like a fish out of water, and it took me a really long time, doing every sort of jobs, ridiculing myself sometimes and eating the humble-pie, to know what I really want in life.

It doesn’t help that there will always be someone who’s ‘envious’ of you, or having your very own anonymous detractors. Why is it these people need to be anonymous always eh.

I believe mediocrity always attacks excellence, and I’ve come to a conclusion that they resort to such acts, hating you for no reason at all, as they probably have low self-esteem or just small dicks/breasts. I reckon its the latter, hahahaha.

I really pity these insecure fools. Kesian all these kepoh pontianaks

So kids if you’re reading this, this is my advise:

  1. Always follow your passion
  2. To hell with what other people think of you
  3. Be yourself

Ellen says its best below. Here she gives the commencement speech at Tulane University recently. I can really relate to what she said, from the rental payment to having an epiphany after a tragic loss. Play it, it might be the best spent 9 minutes of your life.

Aku Anak Melayu, and I do what damn pleases me, and there ain’t nothing anyone can do about it

wow… tts a nice speech…. i like ellen degeneres…. she’s funny and down to earth.. even when she is not “straight”… :P…bt seriously wat she says in tt speech is true…maybe bcos i guess we, the above 25 age grps.. have been thru a lot so tts y we knw that ,after all the difficulties and struggles we have been thru, we managed to make it in the end.. and learning something along the way.. :P..

the 3 things that u mentioned are also wat i always told to my younger frens and my cousins… who are beginning to feel the effects of an “after schooling life” syndrome… and beginning to feel lost… haha.. reading this brought me back to the feeling of after schooling life and asking myself… ok.. where shall i go frm here??? well… it had not been a smooth ride… bt i m glad tt i make it in the end..and finding my calling nw.. :P.. in fact… i would never want to changed the way life would have been for me.. even when it had been the most nadir point of my life…u r right… there are just some things tt school could never teach..

And tts a strong “shout out” there… hahahah….

Learning to manage your personal finances management should start when you are a teen. This is importance because parents can help their teen learn about personal finance and learn how to treat it with respect so it works for them not against them. Many teens have a job and therefore, have personal finances. Some parents make their teens pay for things, like recreation or even bills like prepaid hand phone. When a teen has money coming in they should be guided into the world of personal finance.it look easy but try to discipline yourself .Teacher don’t teach in school but parent will be a teacher . Learn it
